Beacon Foundation and Federal Group - Country Club Excursion
Last Thursday Prospect High School Catering and Hospitality Students attended the last session of the Beacon Foundation and Federal GRiPP program at Launceston Country Club Casino.
Fourteen students participated in hands on activities like mocktail making and cupcake decoration. They then listened to Federal representatives talk about their respective positions and the opportunities provided by the company. After morning tea the students were able to take part in a ‘speed careering’ session and were able to ask questions of all these mentors.
After lunch, Beacon Foundation coordinators Linda and Ebony ran a session on reading job advertisements and recognising the key aspects of advertisements, applications and cover letters.
All the students agreed it was a mixture of fun, skill building and gathering information- particularly relevant as this cohort prepare to look for casual work.
Thank you to Beacon Foundation’s Linda and Ebony and Federal Group’s Audra for providing this wonderful opportunity.
