Prospect High School would like to invite you to attend our 2022 Production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr, by arrangement with Music Theatre International.   

Ring bells! Bang the drums! You are gonna love this exciting adaptation of the legendary tale of the lovable thief with the heart of gold! Join Aladdin, Jasmine, and the fast talking, wisecracking Genie as they discover mystical caves, take magic carpet rides, and outwit the evil sorcerer, Jafar. This musical includes favourite Alan Menken songs such as “Friend Like Me”, “A Whole New World”, and “Prince Ali”, as well as wonderful new songs added for the Broadway production. With new, colourful characters and nonstop adventure, Aladdin JR. is sure to be a crowd pleaser for all ages!  

Rehearsals are well underway, and students are having a ball both rehearsing on-stage and working off. This year we have students from Grades 8-10 contributing in all areas of development – from blocking and choreography, to rehearsing in the musical ensemble, to sewing costumes and painting set pieces. In addition to this, we have students working in lighting, sound, publicity and graphics. This show features dance, comedy and drama, live music, sparkly costumes – the works!  Come along and experience the magic of one of our Disney favourites.  

You can purchase tickets for this AMAZING show via the PHS Administration Office. We have three evening shows: Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November at 7pm. As we have double cast the lead roles, be sure to select the night where your child/friend is starring (see lists below). When these students are not in the lead roles, they will still be performing as part of the ensemble – so come any night (or all of them) for an amazing evening of song, dance and comedy and discover ‘A whole new world’!

If you are interested in one of our matinee shows, these are on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 11am. You can expect to see ‘Red’ at the Thursday matinee, and ‘Blue’ at the Wednesday and Friday matinees.
