On Thursday Grade 8 Catering enjoyed a visit from the Launceston City Council Environmental Health Officers who explained their role and the varying duties they were responsible for and what qualification students need to become an EHO.

Clare and Brie enlightened students to some of the past cases they have dealt with and as caterers in a registered kitchen, the importance of safe and hygienic food handling.

A Q and A session followed with an activity in effective hand washing – which again highlighted the importance of correct techniques.
